Creating a New Assignment

If you would like all of your assignments to have the same point values, you can set the points globally before creating your first assignment.

1. Log into your Instructor Platform.
2. Click on the Assignments button on the left-hand side of your screen.
3. Click on the + New Assignment button.
4. Enter a name for the assignment in the box at the top of the window.
5. On the left-hand side, underneath the assignment name, click on the drop-down list to select the content you would like included in the assignment. Click the Add button at the bottom of the menu.            
6. Enter the Assignment Dates as explained below.
   If your SimUText does not have Course Sections:
   You can use the embedded date/time picker or type in times and dates for the assignment.
   
   
   

   If your SimUText does have Course Sections:
   You can use the embedded date/time picker or type in the dates and times manually.

   
   
   Or you can click on the Auto-set features button and choose whether to set the same dates and times for all sections or to set dates which allow each of the course sections to have the same amount of time to complete the assignment.
   Click the Apply Section Dates and Times button.
7. Click on the Scoring and Exemptions tab. If you set points globally for all assignments, you will see those values here. If not, you can enter the points you would like for the assignment here. On the far right there is a Question Counter that will tell you how many Feedback and Quiz Questions are in this particular assignment.
8. If you have set a Late Penalty for your SimUText, you can exempt students from that penalty by clicking on the Add... button.
9. Click on the Save button.
