Late Penalty Exemption

The Late Penalty is applied to all assignments globally, but you can exempt any student(s) on any assignment(s) from the penalty. The exempted student will be able to continue submitting answers for that assignment until the answers are visible, and their scores will not be subject to the penalty.

To add an exemption for a student:

1. Log into the SimBio Active Learning System.
2. Click on the Assignments button on the left-hand side of the screen.
3. Click the Edit (pencil) button in front of the assignment for which the student needs an exemption.
4. Click on the Scoring + Exemptions tab.
5. If your SimUText is divided into sections, you can click on the drop-down menu to select the section the student is in.
6. Click the Add... button.
7. Check the box next to any student needing an exemption.
8. Click the ADD button.
9. Click the Save button at the bottom of the Assignment screen.
